Question
Hello. I bought a W. Haid 2 Jewels clock (1050-020) and the clock is running 1/2 hour behind every 24-hours. I see that there is a plus and minus sign on the back of the clock, but I can not find a dial to change the time to the correct time. Thank you very much for your help.

Answer
Hi Phil,

It sounds like you have an older version of the 1050-020. The newer versions have the (+) and (-) marks on a steel bracket at the top of the movement, and an adjusting screw next to the markings. The older versions have the (+) and (-) markings on the rear movement plate itself, on each side of the opening in the plate through which you can see the large horizontal balance wheel.

If you look closely at the balance wheel, you will see a 3-pronged part directly on top of the wheel, centered on the same shaft as the balance wheel, and with the prongs pressing down onto the outer ring of the balance wheel. To adjust the timing of the clock, hold the balance wheel carefully so that it does not get pushed up, down or sideways. Then use a tweezers or very small screwdriver to push the pronged part so that it  rotates a few degrees around the balance wheel's outer circumference. The (+) indicates the direction to move the pronged part to make the clock run faster, and vice versa. http://www.clockmasteronline.com
