Question
I have a zaandam clock.  I need a replacement movement.
The movement currently is chain driven with two chains, has a pendulum as well.
On the back here is what it reads
Upper left corner:  FEINTECH___ (can't read it all!)

Lower left corner is reads
66/6 PL23  10  8
Made in West Germany

Can you tell me the manufacturer, and if so, where I might obtain a new movement?
THank you

Answer
Hi BJ,

I can't identify the movement manufacturer with certainty, and I'm not familiar with the name Feintech. A couple decades ago there were several companies which made Zaandam movements but, to my knowledge, the only one that still makes them is Hermle.

You may be able to convert your clock to take the Hermle Zaandam movement. This may require modifications to accommodate different handshaft length, different chain locations or different pendulum position. You can obtain Hermle movements at Butterworth Clocks, Inc., (563) 263-6759.
