Question
QUESTION: How do I fix my wind up grandfather clock to chime the appropriate hour?  Currently it chimes 11 times when it is 3 o'clock.

ANSWER: Could you clarify for me?  Does your clock do this only at 3 o'clock or is it wrong at every hour?  The answer to each condition would be different.  Thank you WJP

QUESTION: It chimes incorrectly on every hour

Answer
Okay!  Stop the clock.  Grasp the hour hand as close to its mounting shaft as you can, never grasp close to its end.  The hand is friction fit to its shaft so you can turn the hand to its proper position according to the strike count.  Once you have the hour hand in a synchronized position start the clock and set in the normal manner.  Regards WJP
