Clocks, Watches/Scratches

Question
How do you remove scratches from face of watch or sun glasses?

Answer
Ms. Carolyn,

With watches, it will depend on whether it is made of glass or plastic, of course.

Many times it is better to replace them.

However, in the case one wants that crystal repaired, one can use a buffing compound and a buffing wheel.  You put it  in a dremel tool (if you don't have a special machine for buffing) and it will take out the scratches.

I was told by an eye doctor that the stuff seen on tv that is supposed to fill in the scratches doesn't work.

Kind regards,

Melvin
