Question
Hello my grandfather had given me a pocket watch many years ago. I have been trying to find some History On it. It has a Locomotive on the back of it. The front does not have a cover but the back is Silver or White gold not sure with a Copper locomotive on it. The inside of watch has CWC co not sure about that either. If you could please point me in the right direction on where to look for some history on this.
Thank you

Answer
Celeste,

There was a private label Illinois made watch with that name.

I've seen "Southern Special" as a dial marking on 16 size Illinois Watch Co. watches. The movements are usually factory marked 17 jewel middle quality grades from the late 1910's or early 1920's.

Hopee that is some help.
