Question
there are four rods and one is loose-it seems to have a point at one end but it wont stay in the alloted hole-are they banged in like a nail?can that entire rod holder be taken out the clock to fix--if so how?  thanks robert

Answer
Revere is old enough so this job can be a real challenge. The rod is broken off. Remove the bolts holding the entire chime block unit from the bottom of the case and look to see the back end of the chime block how they are fixed in. If NOT with a slotted brass threaded head, let me know how to fix, because I have one customer that needs one repaired and I turned the job down- because after 35+ years I still have no good way to fix these. If you shorten the rod the tone is changed to a higher note and the two broken ends are too delicate in their stressed vibrating service to repair and even if you did the tone would not be the same- Bummer!
