Question
hello i have an older mantel clock has stamped on back of plate made in germany circle with wings has number 11533 also has number 22 came with key with tag kieninger and obergfell 400 day clock but i dont know if it went with this clock or not

Answer
Hi Eugene,

400-Day clocks have a round brass base, exposed movement, and are covered by a glass dome. There are many pictures of these clocks on Google Images. If your clock does not look like this, the key is not original for the clock.

Kieninger and Obergfell did not use the trademark you describe. This trademark was used by Kienzle, and usually has that name inside the circle.

Nonetheless, to paraphrase an old saying, "If the key fits, wind with it."  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
