Question
My aunt has subject clock.  She let the wts run down.  After she pulled them up, I believe she didn't let the clock strike thru every hour when setting. I freed the clock up so that it will run.  It will not chime the quarter or the hour.  I can lift the levers and make the clock chime quarter or hour.  How do I get this clock chiming each qtr and each hour when it's running.  Once I get it chiming, I can get it synchronized.  Thanks.

Answer
I believe the clock probably needs cleaning and adjustment.  Before going to that extent check the order in which the weights are hung.  As you face the clock the heaviest weight should be hung on the right side.  The 200D movement should have an automatic chime strike adjustment, that is why I suspect cleaning is in order.
