Question
I just purchased a Franz Hermle Ship's Clock that appears to be possibly missing something from the back of the clock.  The clock is marked "80 Franz Hermle Made in West Germany Unadjusted 132-071."  Do you know where I could see a picture of the back or if there's a trick to starting the clock.  We do not have a key but found one that does work on it.  Can you help?
Thanks,
Jack

Hermle 132-071
Hi Jack,

I'm assuming that you want a picture of the back of the movement, not the clock case, and I have added one as an attachment to this answer. The quality is not excellent, but I hope it suffices.

There is no trick to starting the clock. You should wind both keys fully, as far as they will go, and the clock should self-start. it doesn't start, it probably either needs lubrication or there is wear in the movement's bearings and it needs more major repair work.

Sometimes older movements that do not self start can be started by giving the clock a couple quick partial rotations in a radial direction, that is, as if the clock were a wheel that you were turning back and forth.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
