Question
My grandfather clock is about 30 years old.
The hour chime is not working correctly.  It only chimes once on the hour instead of counting off the number of hours.
It used to work fine and I might have set it to operate this way, but if I did I can't remember the procedure to reset this feature. I would appreciate any help you might provide or point me in the right direction for an answer.  The Howard Miller site doesn't address this question.

Thank you

you can not set it that way. it is malfunctioning. the rack is not dropping to give the proper hour count. this is an internal adjustment behind the dial to the front of the movement - requires some cleaning and servicing.

in the attached photo the rack hinges on a shaft on the right side and it is gummed up and the rack is not dropping freely.
