Question
I HAVE A POCKET WATCH FROM THE SPRINGFIELD WATCH CO # 4027916 AND MARKED ON THE FACE ILLINOIS CENTRAL. NUMBERS ARE NOT ARABIC. NORMAL 1-12 NUMBERS. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS A RAILROAD WATCH AND WHERE CAN I GET INFO AND VALUE AT. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.  LISE

Answer
Lise,

If you could show me a picture, I might have a better idea if it is a railroad grade or not.

Also, look at the movement to determine how many jewels are in the movement.  It should have 21 or more.

By the serial #, it was made in 1923.

The best way to get a value is to look on ebay at what similar watches are selling for.  That is the actual market value.

Illinois is a very popular watch and in demand.  Depending on the shape, it could be worth a nice amount.

Kind regards,

Melvin
