Question
I'm having a hard time finding out any specific's about this half hunter gold plated watch #4848616. It is a 17J fortis movement that is not working due to possible winding lack of tension.although it will operate for afew moments by manually twisting the entire piece back and forth

Answer
John,

What happens when you wind it?

Does it ever stop winding?

If not, you need a new mainspring.  That is a relatively easy fix.

It is good news that the watch will run by twisting the watch.  That lets you know that there is nothing seriously wrong.

Kind regards,

Melvin
