GF20G   This is a "schoolhouse wall clock" The battery/pendulum unit hass stopped working.  Where can a  new unit be purchased? I doubt if it can be repaired.

Hi Donald,

You are correct that quartz movements are rarely repairable. Replacement movements can be purchased from many clock supply houses like Timesavers, Merritts Antiques or Empire Clock. The replacement movement will probably not look like your original, but you should be able to find one that fits your clock. You may or may not need to replace your original hands with ones that fit the handshaft on the new movement.

When selecting a replacement movement, you need to select a movement: 1)whose overall size will fit in the space in your clock, 2)which has the correct handshaft length so that the hands or handshaft do not hit either the dial (if too short) or the front glass (if too long), and 3)the pendulum position is correct, so that the pendulum extends straight down through any opening provided for it in the case without hitting against the sides of the opening.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
