clock is running fast there are small nuts labelled 'S' and 'F' on the movement of the clock. How do I adjust these to slow the clock down

If you are talking about a spring or weight driven clock I will need a digital picture depicting the "S" and "F" you reference.  There are so many variences available that it would be difficult to even visualize your problem.  With the requested pic I am sure I can help you.  Regards WJP
