QUESTION: I have a Mantle Clock made by The London Clock Company and need a replacement chime, I need a chime that strikes on the quarter, half, three quarter and hour.  Can you advise where I might source this?  My local clock repairer is only able to source one that strikes on the hour.  The original movement started chiming throughout the night hours, which it was programmed not to do, and I left it to be repaired only to have it returned with just the hour striking.

QUESTION: Thank you Kenneth, I suspected that he didn't look very hard either.  Can you tell me: if I buy the hermle quartz chiming movement will it be easy for any clock repairer to fit it.

Have your repair person give you your money back or have him get the proper movement now that you know where to have him get it. You need to get the right hand shaft length and make sure it will fit the case --all require experience in the purchase that you do not need to take the responsibility for. Do not let your repair person off the hook.
