I have a one day, New Haven clock with a 5/16 wide main spring. Would clock grease be appropriate for this small clock?

Without knowing anything about the grade of grease you propose using I can only venture that it might be okay for the mainspring only.  I would rather recommend a good grade of clock lubricant.  Any such lubricant sold by a reputable clock materials house would be sufficient.  Regards WJP
