Question
Hi...I have an Alaron 31 day Schoolhouse style clock. It Gongs the hour and the 1/2 hour, the wood appears to be Mohoghany but not sure of that, the movement was made in Korea, this clock has been in the family since the early 70's.
This clock still runs and keeps absolutely perfect time. The problem I have and has been the problem since it was purchased in the 70's. When I have to take the clock off the wall and put it back I have to move the bottom of the clock slightly to the left to get the clock working, sometimes I can get the spot quickly and other times it can take me a few minutes. The good thing is I dont have to take it off the wall very often except when I have to paint which is now. Is there an easy fix to this problem? Would love to hang the clock on the wall straight without having to find the right spot to get it ticking.:) Thanks for your time. Don

Answer
hang the clock straight--you still will have to "find" where "straight" is, right? Going to use a carpenter's level?

after finding "straight", slightly bend the wire the pendulum hooks on - left or right to get the sound of the ticking even -so it runs when "straight".

OR: find the crooked spot that makes it happy and put a small pencil line on the wall at the edge of the case.
