DISPITE CHANGING BATTERIES OFTEN, I FIND THAT BATTERY OPERATED QUARTZ CLOCKS CONTINUE TO RUN SLOW. ESPECIALLY, ELGIN BRAND

Answer
I have been selling quartz movements for over 10 years and find them to be very accurate. I don't sell Elgin and have replaced many of them with the American made movements we sell.
I can say that all quartz movements are inexpensive and are made of plastic. While they are a great value and they are useful timekeepers a small percentage of them do fail.
