Question
I am looking at purchasing grandfather clock dial and its is identified by "Balwin" on face and on rear the numbers
10736. How would I go about determining what movement would match up to this dial?
Thank you

Answer
I can't help you on this one.  I can tell you what dials you can use on a movement but I can't tell you what movement a dial would specifically fit.  I do not believe such a reference exists.  To make use of a random dial you would have to take quite a few measurements and match them to the construction of whatever movement interest you.  Once you have done that then you would have to match this duo, plus, chime bars, weights and pendulum, to a case.  Usually the dial is the last option chosen in assembling a clock.  Regards WJP
