I INHERITED A GRANDFATHER CLOCK AND KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT . WAS TOLD IT WAS 40 YEARS OLD . I JUST GOT IF FIXED AND RUNNING. IT IS A MADRID #613 MADE IN STARKSDLE, MISSISSIPPI, THE LABEL SAYS, WAS IT MADE ABOUT 1914 AND WHAT KIND OF WOOD IS IT ? ANYTHING WOULD BE APPERICATED. THANKS FRANKLIN

Without seeing the clock I cannot make any assessments.  I will tell you that Herschede was one of the premier makers of tall clocks, (grandfather).  If you have one of their top of the line models, you assuredly have one of the best EVER.  Regards WJP
