Clocks, Watches/Herman Miller Quartz Mantel Clock Won't Chime

Question
I have a quartz Herman Miller Fleetwood Mantel clock with a 1/2 hour and hour dual chime (sleep mode too) that one day stopped chiming.  It still keeps time perfectly, but I miss the chimes.  I've opened the back and can't see any loose wires.  I've replaced the battery with several new ones.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Dee,

Quartz movements are not designed to be repairable. You should check for an Off switch for the chime, which is present in some quartz movements, and you should install fresh alkaline batteries, not rechargeable or old-fashioned acid "heavy duty" batteries. If the chime still doesn't work, the movement will need to be replaced.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
