QUESTION: I have a clock that was sent from Germany to my Grandparents.  I asked a local repairman information about the clock.  He provided the following information: "The maker of the clock is SOHNE and Sons. The Christmas tree is the emblem V&H manufacturing plants. The VH is for Villingen and Hamburg Germany.  The clock was made in about 1910 by style and color"  However, the word SOHNE is German for sons.  What information can I send you so that you can either verify or correctly answer the questions of manufacturer and year of production of the clock?



ANSWER: Your right as stated the clock would be son & son.  I will see if I can develop the rest of the information provided into some useable information.  Regards WJP

QUESTION: I can send you a better picture if you want it.  Let me know what to take a picture of.  
Attached is the 'Christmas tree' like emblem drawn looking at the clockworks backplate.  The picture did not turn out.  

The face of the clock and the pendulum have what looks like roses on them.  

It is a bim-bam strike.

I have scanned well over a thousand registered German, Austrian and Swiss clock maker logos with out success.  I suspect the logo you presented is one for seller of the clock rather than the maker.  If that be the case the task to identify, using that criteria, would be nye on to impossible.  I'm sorry to have not helped you.  I hate not being able to develop even a slight clue. I will keep this in mind and should I run across anything I would deem helpful, I will share is with you.  Regards WJP
