Question
Hello and thank you for answering me the last time,

I had one more question, i gather you didnīt see it. I am a little confused over the meaning of "slow train" in these watches. Some tchnicality in the winding mechanism?

Kind regards

Michael, Sweden

Answer
Michael,

By the 1880s (in the USA anyway) "quick train" meant a watch with 18,000 beats per hour, as compared with the "slow train" (16,200 beats per hour) that was common previously. Of course now some watches have become even "quicker".

Kind regards,

Melvin
