Clocks, Watches/Pendulm Suspension

Question
I have a pendulum regulated shelf clock made by Perivale (England). The clockworks has markings: a stamped logo (a clock face with FHS over it) and "15cm" (underlined) above "178.28". I think this means it is a Hermle movement, 15cm Pendulum length, 178.28 beats per minute. There is no model number. The clock worked until the suspension spring for the pendulum broke. It is the usual two parallel leafs sandwiched top and bottom in brass plates. Top plate has a hole, and the bottom a pin. It measures about 1cm wide x 2cm long. Is  there a place I can purchase a replacement?

Answer
Hi James,

Suspension springs are available from any good clock supply houses, such as Timesavers (www.timesavers.com) or Merritts Antiques (www.merritts.com).

The best way to select the correct size spring is to obtain a printed catalog from the supplier. The illustrations of the springs are actual size, and you can easily line up the correct spring with your broken spring. Unfortuantely, this method doesn't work with the online catalogs, due to variations in screen resolution and sizes.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
