Question
I have a Schmeckenbecher wall clock with Pendilum and two weights. Recently the left weight I think is the time one came down and did not decend all the way due to a chair being in the way. The clock stopped and I cannot get it to go again. If I keep starting the pendilum the sound seems ok but the clock will chime on the half hour and the right chain seems to decend but the left chain does not move. What do you think is the problem. Thank you

Answer
It sounds like you have a hung up chain.  The most likely cause would be a twisted chain, or a chain slipped off its cog. In either case you would need to gain access to the motor to correct.  If it is a twisted chain you would need to straighten the chain.  If the chain is off its cog you would need to remove the weight and work the chain back onto it cog wheel.  Regards WJP
