Question
Hi William,

I have a 1926 Seth Thomas Chime Clock #90 of which I have just serviced its 124 movement.  (It had stopped running due to a broken pivot in the time train).  Anyhow, there is a time train set for a "Seth Thomas" being sold on e-bay at the moment but the only description for it is "time train 4 1/2 Seth Thomas."  What does the 4 1/2 represent?  Based on that description, do you think it would fit the 124?  The arbors look identical but the size is deceiving.

Thanks!

Scott Gibson

Answer
No it is not the same movement.  I don't understand why you don't simply repivot the clock.  Its a simple routine job for all qualified clock repair persons.  Seth Thomas catalogs list only the # 124 movement for the chime clock #90.  This is one of Seth Thomas's most desireable movement.  I do hope you reslove this matter, regards WJP
