Question
Have Elgin Sportsman chronograph watch. Looks to be screw off back but doesn't budge. Is this a pop off back. I have 3 prong wrench but it doesn't budge. Any tips to get this back off?

Answer
Daniel,

if you have used sufficient force and the back will not budge, then it is most likely a pop off back. Take a single aged razor blade and work it into the crease between the case and the watch back. BE VERY CAREFUL. Work your way around the circumference of the watch. Be patient and go slowly.

Kind regards,

Melvin
