I have an Emperor clock that does not chime the hour.  The quarter hours chime.  This is a desk top clock. The engraving on the back says 82 Emperor Clock, 110(0)jewels,
341-020, 11cm/200.78. I have had the clock since 1984.  It has not chimed the hour in over a year.  I have used clock oil where I can, but it still does not chime the hour. When this first started I could faintly here part of the chime for a certain hour, but not all of it.  Please advise.

the clock strikes the hour and chimes quarterly.

watch in the back door to see what happens when the hour chimes play- the gear just peaking around the corner of the plate on the upper tight should move after the 16 notes of the Westminster chime play on the hour. give it a finger nudge if it doesnt move and the silver elbowed arm doesn't lift the hammers.
