Question
I have a Cuckoo clock with markings on the back that say "E.SCHMECKENBECHER" It says made in germany 25 and has the marking "G.M. 1731483" Under the first set of numbers are the numbers 1741584.  Under one of the gears is a six-letter (?) word that ends in gula.  All of these markings are on the clock mechanism.  On the wood, on the back is a label that says "Rosen aus dem Suden 1509".  Can you tell me where this clock was manufactured, the year it was manufactured and the current value??
It's in perfect condition.

Thanks,

Answer
Hello Mike,
Schmekenbecher is in the black forest of W. Germany and have been making clocks for many years,  I think yours was made in the 1980.  The Regula name is also German and have been making the movements for many years.  The song listed on the paper is Roses from the south by Johann Strauss in 1880.

Enjoy your clock.

I dont have a clue about the price.
