Question
Have an Elgin battery powered regulator clock that fails to keep time. Replaced battery 3 times and it still fails to keep accurate time. Uses 1 D battery. Its time only and the Pendulum is 12" long. Movement is marked quartz with numbers CL 1003 and below those numbers are G-8. We have had the clock many years so Im sure the same movement will be impossible to replace with the same one but looking to purchase one that will work. Any ideas.

Answer
Hi Jack, have a look at the following page and let me know if anything there looks like it might work.

Some of the things to consider are:
How thick is the clock face (dial thickness)
Does the clock chime or strike?
How long and what style are the hands?
You will want to get a new pair of hands because the mounting holes on your hands may not fit the new movement.
