Question
YIKES!!  I just re-set my mechanical kitchen wall clock to Eastern Standard Time by pushing the hand forward to the next hour.  I went into my diningroom, OPENED UP THE EARLY '80S Grandmother Clock and pushed the long hand forward RIGHT PAST THE QUARTER HOUR WITHOUT STOPPING!!!  Now its chiming the quarter hour on the half hour.  Would you kindly advise me on this matter.
Sincerely, Debbi

<<< I just re-set my mechanical kitchen wall clock to Eastern Standard Time by pushing the hand forward to the next hour. >>>

was this the minute hand you moved on the kitchen clock? is it a striking clock? should be fine unless it is a striking clock and you moved the hour hand.

the Grandmother clock should have re-set itself by now- you can move the minute hand on modern clocks forward or back with out stopping and the chimes and hour strike will self-correct at the next time it strikes the hour.
