Question
I purchased my clock at an estate sale.  The paperwork that came with it was from "The Gravely Furniture Co. in Ridgeway, VA.  The Serial # 4181 and model # 151.  Finish - FRT7  Movement - KH.  Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.  I paid $1,100.00 for it and it looks like it just came off the showroom floor.  The paperwork has yellowed.  Thank you for your time....Diane Clair

Answer
Hello Diane,
The gravely furniture co was started in 1926 in ridgeway, va. and in 1960 became ridgeway clock co. and made only clocks.  I understand they are now owned by howard miller in washington state.  You could call them and get the true history of your clock.  They are super people.  The movement in your clock is German made but the clock is totally american made.
I hope you really enjoy your purchase and when it needs service be very careful in picking the clocksmith.
