Question
I have a 16 size 14k triple hinged hunter case pocketwatch in the original benedict brothers box .  The dial and the case is marked Benedict Bros., New York.  The serial number is 40542.
I have been told that it was probably ade by Waltham, but there is no mark to support that.  How can I determine the age and the maker?

Answer
Jimmy,

Get the "Complete Price Guide to Watches" by Cooskey Shugart.

You want to compare the layout of the movements listed as Waltham to see
if they look the same as yours.

That will be the only way to tell without markings.

Kind regards,

Melvin
