Clocks, Watches/runs slow

Question
I have a waltham 31 day wall clock. It runs slow. About 2 minutes a day. How can I speed it up. My other clocks have a dial in the front to set speed. This one only has the holes to wind it. Thanks in advance.

Answer
I presume you are talking about a pendulum clock.  If so, you will find what is called a rating nut at the bottom of the pendulum.  To speed the clock up you would turn the screw so that it causes the pendulum bob to raise, thus shortening its arc and increasing the speed.  If you turn the screw the oposit direction the bob moves downward and you would increase its arc, thereby slowing the clock down.  Hope this does it for you.  Regards WJP
