Back of Clock
I have a 1947 Seth Thomas Mantle Clock, It runs by electricity. I am having a problem with the chimes. It is supposed to chime on the hour, 1/4 hr, 1/2 hr, and 3/4 hr. The problem is when it chimes on the hour it is three behin; for example if it is 12 o'clock it goes through the westminister chime and then only dings 9 times; and also it doesn't chime at all on the 3/4 hr. Do you know of anyway I can adjust something myself to fix this? THANKS.

Hello Diana,

The hour hand is frictioned fit and not attached to the hour tube and can be carefully moved to the hour that it just struck.  Then just reset the clock.

Thanks for the pic but the other problem is just behind the dial on the outside front plate.  It is to do with a part and or bushing that a clocksmith would have to repair.
