Clocks, Watches/Antique pendulum chiming clock

Question
We have inherited a late Victorian German clock that chimes on the hour and half hourly. The chimes have got the wrong way round -with only 1 chime on the hour and then chiming for the hour at half past. How do I reset it so that it chimes correctly? As I said in the title it is a pendulum clock.
Thanks very much
Sally

Answer
Hello Sally,

Two ways to try,

Carefully remove the hand not and reattach it opposite of the way it was pointing when you removed it and reattach the nut or taper pin if it has one instead of a nut.  or

Take the min. hand and move it backwards about 25-30 mins. and then forward till you pass the 12 or 6 and see if it now chimes correctly.

Good luck over there.
