Clocks, Watches/Clock chimes

Question
I have a wooden mantle clock, probably French in origin, but bought in Jersey (GB) maybe 75 years ago. I wind it every week, but this week it has started to chime the half hour on the hour (one stroke) and the hour on the half hour. In other words, it chimes half an hour late. I can see the mechanism by opening the door on the back and can see how it strikes the hour, but not the half hour. Can you help me fix this rather silly problem?

Many thanks.

Answer
should strike the half in the same way as the hour.

sounds like a count wheel striking system

while it is doing the hour strike, move the minute hand clockwise, from pointing at 6  to pointing at 1-- should get it doing the half in the right place --report back your findings.
