Question
My Speigel Grandma Clock which is 20 years old keeps losing time.  I've tried to adjust the screw on the bottom of the pendulum and that does not seem to help.  Just wondering if the lower the screw the faster the pendulum well move or is it the closer the screw to the top of the pendulum?  It was tuned about 8 years ago and we have moved it twice since.  Julie

Answer
hello Julie,

If you turn the nut to the right it will push the ball up the rod and that will speed the clock up.
As you are turning the regulator nut look closely to be sure the ball is actually moving up the rod.  It is hard to detect sometimes.  I often make a mark or use a piece of tape on the rod to see if it is going up.

Give it a try and if you need to discuss feel free to call me.
