Question
I had to reassemble my clock after shifting to a country which has no repair for this type of clock. My Clock pendulum stops swinging after a few minutes. This site says to put the top short 5" piece of pendulum through the fork. However I don't recollect it passing through  fork before shipment & the end of the fork has a L shape that stops the 5" section entering the fork. Assuming above is solved what keeps the pendulum swinging continuously.

Answer
it does go through the fork

Need photo to be specific help here - lots of different designs - may go through the slot with a twist or up through the back of the fork where it is wider above the slot? Impulse from the escape wheel acting on the verge, giving the fork a slight kick with each tick- keeps pendulum swinging.
