Question
If a pocket watch say guaranteed or warranted but has no mention of the years. IS it gold filled as well. I have watches both "guaranteed or warranted 14k or 18k" as well as watches " guaranteed or warranted 14k or 18k for x number of years. thanks you in advance.

This is a confusing subject for many.

Here are the rules.

Anytime you see a number of years (guaranteed 25 years), it is gold filled.  "Guaranteed" also is an indication of gold filled.

If the watch shows 14k gold filled, that is obvious.

Now, if the watch shows "14k", or "warranted 14k", that is a solid gold case.

If you have any doubts, the number 1 resource is Cooksey Shugart's Book, "The Complete Price Guide to Watches".  In the front of the book, it will show you many of the symbols that are used for both solid gold and gold filled cases.
