Question
I have recently purchased a used grandfather clock and we are trying to find out its date of manufactory. The back of the movement has Kieninger and the #2398158852.The weights are engraved along with the pendulum. The pendulum has a town engraved on it "New Schwanstein Bavaria". Thank you and any info you can give would be helpful.

Answer
Hello Monica,

Kieninger is the name of the movement maker in Germany.  If it is a case made by Howard Miller or Ridgeway you can get their phone and they can date the clock for you. It sounds like a special order engraved clock.

Not much to go on and sorry to be of no help.
