Question
Hello, I recently came in to possession of a Waltham ladies watch. The glass is all scratched on it and the mechanical mechanism is no longer working. I do not know who I can go to get the glass replaced, or to get the mechanical portion fixed or even if the watch is worth fixing. I opened the back of it and I do not see any broken teeth on the gears that I can see but I can not see all the gears and I do not want to do more damage by trying to take it apart my self. What do you think, should I have this repaired and were should I go for repairs?

Answer
Ms. Tracie,

I will leave the question of whether to have it repaired or not for you.

If you like the watch and it has sentimental value, then you should.

If you want to turn a profit, then it probably won't be worth it.

Take it to a jewelery store and ask them if they have a watchmaker on staff
or if they can give you a referral.

Kind regards,

Melvin
