Question

Clock
I lost the winding key to my wall clock. The clock doesn't have a model number on it. I am sending an image to help you predict which key wind is compatible with this clock. Thank you very much.

Answer
Hi Gloria,

Clock keys are available from any clock parts supplier. You must select the correct size or the key may slip and cause catastrophic damage to your clock. Key sizes vary in 1/4 millimeters, so the fitting is quite precise. "Commercial grade" keys are very inexpensive. I would recommend purchasing a selection of these keys and trying them to see which fits best. The fit should not be tight, but definitely not loose. I can only guess, but I would suggest starting with sizes 3.5mm, 3.75mm, 4.0mm and 4.25mm. Always go by millimeter sizes, not "number" sizes, which are not standardized.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
