Question
Hello, I just bought at an auction a Hamilton Mantle Clock with a 340-020 movement. My problem is that although it does chime on the quarter hours and on the hour ir does not chime the hours. Should I oil everything, the hour wind is fully wound and the level is up and chimes are on. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You
if it is old enough the rack for the hour might be so gummy it fails to drop by gravity when released. (on front of the movement-see attached image--you need to remove the mechanism)

date or date code is on the back brass plate of the mechanism.I would not oil anything if it is working and the rack should be removed and its shaft and bore cleaned but not oiled.
