AnswerYou must use the book as your guide to proper pendulum procedure. Here is how to go about it. 1st: identify the clock movement by using the backplate illustrations. 2nd: after identity is achieved, the plate illustration will tell you the precise spring suspension spring requirement. This step is crucial. 3rd: using the suspension spring requirement order the required unit from a clock materials supply house. EXAMPLES; Merritt's Antiques, TimeSavers or Ronell Clocks. All these firms have on-line catalogs from which you can select your requirements. You will find the counter staff, at either of these firms to be most helpful. Terwilliger's book is the absolute bible for repairing 400 day clocks. Use it and trust it. Regards WJP
