Question
The main spring (One on the left when facing the clock) apprently has broken. It made an awful bang and has pushed the wooden side outward, due to the force. Where can I get the part, and more importantly can it be replaced??  This was my Grandmother's mantle clock. Thanks, Ricky

Answer
Yes a mainspring can be replaced.  They can be purchased from any clock materials house.  (Merritt's Antiques, Ronell clocks, TimeSavers)  I DO NOT ENCOURAGE OWNERS TO UNDERTAKE THIS TASK.  A miscue can result in serious damage, not only to the clock, but also, to the person doing the job.  I urge you take the clock to a qualified clock repair person.  Regards WJP
