QUESTION: My Seiko QC102R quartz clock movement was damaged due to a battery leak. Any chance of obtaining a replacement movement or the electronic circuit board (the gears are in good condition). This clock displays mechanically date & day. Please see photos attached.

ANSWER: It's my experience with Seiko that you have to get parts through a Seiko dealer. I think any Seiko dealer can get a price and availability for you. This includes jewelry stores that sell Seiko watches. They will call a company named Coserve. Coserve is the authorized parts dealer for Seiko.
They will want the numbers printed on the movement (usually inside the battery compartment).

QUESTION: Mr. Radi,

Thank you for the information. The address of Coserve I got by searching the Internet is 27 McKee Drive Muhwah, New Jersey 07430, Phone= Fax=. Is it correct? Do you know if they have an e-mail address? Your help is appreciated.

ANSWER: I don't know of a fax number or email address. Whenever I have called them I was told they will only sell to a Seiko dealer. I used to have a friend, who owns a jewelry store, get the parts for me. Even though I am a clock parts supplier they would not sell directly to me.

QUESTION: Mr. Radi,

It appears that I may have difficulty in directly getting the movement from Coserve. Can you help? The number printed inside the battery compartment is 20601 TNKB. The attached image may also help. The clock is a Seiko QC102R. Thank you.

Answer
Sorry, I'm not a Seiko dealer or I would help. You will need to contact a Seiko dealer. I used to have a friend of mine who owned a jewelry store do this for me.
I really never liked doing business Coserve. The people on the phone were always short and quite often the parts were no longer available. If they did have the item, it would be very high priced. A simple movement would cost close to $20.00 with shipping.
Here's a dirty little secret from someone in the business; Seiko makes odd shaped movements and puts them in clock cases where nothing else will fit. If you need a replacement movement, it can only be purchased by a Seiko dealer who has to get it from  Coserve. You will be lucky if they still make it. They change the designs on a regular basis and discontinue products often.
I wish I had better news for you.
