QUESTION: Hello,

I opened the back of my clock, but I'm not sure if you can determine anything from the picture I've attached.  For some reason this site is only allowing me to attach one pic.  I will send a second pic in another message.  I'm not really comfortable taking the face and hands off as I'm not really sure how to.  The clock chimes on the half hour, but does not chime on the hour.  I have wound both sides.  Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mike

ANSWER: ok - got both pics

lifting the levers shown on the attached should trip it to do the hour - use a pencil or such to try with the time set to 5 min. after the hour.
also put some oil (anything at this point) on the shaft that is worn

QUESTION: Hi again,

It worked!  I lifted the levers and it chimed on the hour.  I appreciate how helpful you have been.  Two last things.  One, I think it chimed eleven times at 10 pm.  Any idea why that would happen?  Also, I tried to move the minute hand to adjust the time, but it felt very resistant.  I tried with the pendulum stopped and the with it moving, but I didn't want to force it, so I let it alone.  I was previously able to move the minute hand with more ease.  Any ideas on that?  Thanks again.

    Mike

Answer
every time you trip those levers it strikes the next number -- just move the hour hand (short one) ahead to 11.
As to the minute hand---if the clock is moving the hands and the time is changing then you should be able to move the minute hand without worry.
