Question
What is the correct way to set the time on my Seth Thomas Grandfather clock?  Should the pendulum be stopped?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
You didnot give me much information on your clock so I can only provide a generic answer.  You set the time by moving the minute hand forward, never backward.  If the clock is ahead of time simply stop it and restart at the correct time, or, if the clock went by current time, set to correct time by moving the minute hand forward.  When setting the clock be moving the minute hand forward let each quarter hour chime sequence complete before moving the hand to the next quarter.  I hope this will help you.  Regards WJP
