Question
my parents have a battery operated grandfather clock and I do not see where
the battery goes.  I am trying to shut the clock off or stop the chimes and
cannot figure out how to do so without taking the entire back off the clock.  I
found an allen key near the clock but I am not sure if it belong to it since the
screws are philips head.  Please help...I am here for 1 week and this chiming
will drive me crazy.

Answer
You may need to get into the back of the clock. The battery is usually at the back of the clock movement and will be directly behind the middle of the clock face.
Being a grandfather clock there may be space to reach up underneath. Is there a front door you can open? If so, you can reach up behind the face and feel around for the battery.
Let me know if you need more help.
